Eager festival attendees have had a glimmer of hope on the Splendour In The Grass lineup which was apparently ‘leaked’ on Friday the 10th.
For many, this is pretty much like being a child and getting a peek at your Christmas presents before Christmas Day; an opportunity that would be a crime not to seize.
After a Spotify playlist was uploaded by the Splendour account, all those subscribed to the festival’s streaming service were granted an insight to assume the artists who featured on the playlist were to perform at this year’s event.
Some of the artists included Blur, Mark Ronson, Florence + The Machine, Tame Impala, The Wombats, Of Monsters and Men and Death Cab For Cutie… Sounding pretty good to us so far!
One man behind the discovery was Geelong Advertiser reporter Paddy Naughtin, who was one of the first to screen-shot a part of the playlist, also claiming to have seen bands Death Cab For Cutie, The Dandy Warhols and Royal Blood on the playlist.
This year’s highly anticipated Splendour will be taking place from Friday 24th to Sunday 26th July at the North Byron Parklands.
Triple J breakfast show hosts Matt and Alex will confirm if Splendour has well and truly ‘leaked’ when they release the full lineup and ticketing info this Wednesday the 15th.
For now we will have to ponder – is this just a sick joke? Or is some Splendour employee sitting at his desk right now saying this:
